Grant questions, answered straight

How is the SEAI home solar grant calculated in 2026?
€700 per kWp for the first 2 kWp, then €200 per kWp up to 4 kWp, capped at €1,800. A 4 kWp system or larger gets the full €1,800.
Who applies for the grant — me or the installer?
You apply to SEAI for the grant offer, and no work can start before it is issued. We guide you through the application and handle the installer, grid-notification and completion documents.
What is the maximum solar grant for a farm?
Under TAMS 3, solar is grant-aided at 60% against a ring-fenced investment ceiling of €90,000 — a maximum grant of €54,000, for systems up to 62 kWp.
What is the SEAI business solar grant worth?
Under the Non-Domestic Microgen Scheme the grant is stepped: 1 kWp €900; 2 kWp €1,800; 3 kWp €2,100; 4–6 kWp €2,400; 7–20 kWp +€300 per additional kWp; 21–200 kWp +€200 per additional kWp; 201–1,000 kWp +€150 per additional kWp. So 1 kWp is €900, 4–6 kWp is €2,400, 20 kWp is €6,600, 200 kWp is €42,600, 1,000 kWp is €162,600 — the €162,600 maximum is reached exactly at 1000 kWp.
