Athlone straddles the Shannon and the Westmeath–Roscommon boundary, and the housing shows it. There are period terraces and townhouses near the centre and around the castle, decades of estate housing out towards Monksland, Cornamaddy and Retreat, and newer low-density builds further out again. Each of those roofs needs its own approach to mounting, cable routing and where the inverter goes.
There is a lot of commercial and light-industrial work here too: the business parks along the Blyry and Monksland corridors, the medtech and pharma employers around the town, and the campus activity at TUS. A big, clear, fairly modern roof on a single-storey industrial unit is about as good as it gets for commercial solar, and a manufacturing or logistics operation uses most of its power during the day, which is when the panels produce.
The Shannon splits the town, but we work both sides of the river as a matter of course. Westmeath side or Roscommon side makes no difference to how a job is run.
